Sisters Take Each Other To Court Over Big Bingo Win

Sisters Linda Kenny, 53, and Doreen Thomas, 57, teamed up against their elder sister Edna Sexton, 59, in a bid to get a share of the £50,000 that they claim she backed out on paying.

The two siblings stated that they had all agreed to split the winnings three ways after the win on a National Game ticket at the Buckingham Bingo Palace in Hunts Cross, Liverpool (UK) last June. Both were suing Edna for £16,666 each plus interest.

Mrs. Sexton defended herself at the time by claiming that they had made a different agreement in which winnings over £1,000 were not split.

The case was solved when the judge awarded the two women a slice of their sister’s £50,000 bingo win – only for them to find out that she had already spent the prize money!

Speaking outside Chester County Court, Doreen stated: «We are glad to have been awarded the payment, although we don’t know how Edna is going to pay us! She has told us she has spent it all, even giving some to members of her family.»

Edna, who also claimed that the original agreement to share was not binding, said: «I don’t think it’s really a victory, is it?»
